At Cossette, I created content for SickKids across email, video, digital campaigns and more. Working across a range of donor communications, I wrote and adapted content designed to engage audiences and bring SickKids’ impact to life.

At Sid Lee, I created content for Maple Leaf Foods across social, web, print and more.

TykeTalk

Tyke Talks is a SickKids video series inspired by TED Talks, giving young patients the opportunity to explain their medical conditions in their own words. As a Copywriter at Cossette, I wrote scripts that transformed their stories and experiences into engaging, accessible narratives designed to connect with donors.

Key Contributions:

  • Scriptwriting & Storytelling – Wrote and refined two patient-centered scripts, ensuring they were engaging, informative, and donor-focused.

  • Strategic Messaging – Crafted narratives that subtly reinforced SickKids’ advanced care while making complex medical topics accessible.

  • Collaboration – Worked with designers, strategists, and stakeholders to align messaging with SickKids’ fundraising goals.

  • Creative Development & Video Direction – Worked on the creative direction for the video, including the set design, to ensure it aligned with the TED Talk-inspired format while maintaining SickKids’ brand identity.

Lessons Learned

💡 The Power of Simplicity: Even complex medical topics can be made accessible with the right storytellingapproach.

💡 Balancing Emotion & Information: Too much sentimentality can overshadow the science; the key isfinding the right mix.

💡 Creative Constraints Drive Innovation: Staying within brand guidelines while refreshing the format led to a more refined final product.
